Letters to the Palace

First World War. From everywhere, in every language, sacks filled with letters arriving at the Palace in Madrid asking for the intervention of King Alfonso XIII. He faces a huge dilemma, and bravely decides to get personally involved by setting up an office on behalf of war prisoners. This is the thrilling story of a small group of committed civil servants with a cause who were responsible for the first governmental peace mission in history.
